Introduction to Islam in South Africa

All Praises belong to Almighty Allah Rabbul Ala'meen, Creator and Sustainer of the Universe and unfathomable Lord of Mercy, Muhabbat, and Grace. May we all delve to join the everlasting praises His Malaa'eeka and the Blessed ones are constantly celebrating, and may His eternal and most effulgent blessings shower upon His Beloved Nabee  Muhammad Ibn Abdullah Rahmatul Liel Ala'meen Sallallahoo Alayhi Wasallam and upon all of Allah's Ambiya Alayhim Salaam be the Peace and Blessings of the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth. The pages of early Islamic history of South Africa is illuminated by the Divine Light of Al Islam that has enabled the Muslim Ummah of this newly liberated country to celebrate 350 years of its Islamic heritage. Free at last from the tentacles of the satanic system of Apartheid. Yes! Free at last from the brutality, the oppression and repression of the inhuman and hated Pass Laws, free at last from burying our heroes and our freedo

Ramadaan: Month of Abundant Blessings

Image
All praise is due to Allah, Lord, Cherisher and Sustainer of the universe; and peace and salutations upon the Choicest of His creation,  Sayyiduna Rasoolullah Muhammad SAW, and upon his noble Ahlul Bayt and Sahaabah RA. Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah RA reports: "The Holy Prophet SAW used to give his companions glad tidings by saying:  "Indeed, the month of  Ramadaan has come to you. It is a month full of blessings, and Allah has prescribed upon you to fast during the month. The  doors of the gardens are open in it, the doors of the Fire are close and the devils are chained. In it there is a night more  virtuous than one thousand months, and whosoever is denied its blessings the mercy of Allah is prohibited for him. "  Narrated by Imam Ahmad RA Every year, the blessed month of Ramadaan comes and goes, but we do not grasp the opportunity in the way that we should. Few are  those who really obtain its full blessings and few are those who are spiritually enriched. Just

Surah Al-Hujurat

This chapter of the Holy Qur'an starts off by educating us on the etiquette that we should observe with Allah, Most High, and with His Most Beloved Messenger ( Eternal blessings upon him and his family and companions). 1: [O you who believe! In the matters of the shari`ah do not go ahead of or take precedence before Allah and His Messenger and the Imams; and fear the punishment of Allah for such actions, and be careful of what you say or write about the shari`ah because Allah surely is All-Hearing and All-Knowing. (During the Occultation of the Present Imam, the same discipline should be observed by following the most learned mujtahid – expert of Islamic laws – of our time).] 2: [O you who believe! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet. After the death of the Prophet the believers can follow this command of Allah by not voicing their objections against the laws brought by the Prophet. And do not talk loudly to him as you talk to one another. Heed to these two co

A Portrait of Perfection

[And remember, when `Isa, the son of Maryam said: Oh children of Israa-eel, verily, I am the Messenger of Allah to you, confirming what is in front of me of the Torah, and a bearer of glad-tidings that a Messenger will come after me, whose name will be Ahmad.]5 Sayyidunaa Jubayr Ibn Mut`im RA narrates, “The Messenger of Allah SAW said, “I have many names; I am Muhammad, I am Ahmad, I am Al-Maahee through whom Allah will eradicate disbelief, I am AlHaashir after whose coming mankind will be resurrected, and I am Al-`Aaqib after whom there is no prophet.”6 Rasoolullah SAW has many names. Imaam An-Nawawi says, Imaam Abu Bakr Ibn Al-`Arabi Al-Maliki RA says in his commentary on Tirmithi, `Aaridatul Ahwathee Fee Sharhit Tirmithi," Some of the Sufi scholars say, "Allah SWT has one-thousand names, and Rasoolullah SAW has one-thousand names. Regarding the names of Allah SWT, I have mentioned a small number of them, and with regards to the names of Rasoolullah SAW , I a

Answer your Prophet (Peace be upon him)

Answer your Prophet SAW The Messenger of Allah SAW said: “Whoever cleans himself at home and then he walks to one of the houses of Allah, in order to fulfil one of the obligations of Allah, for each step that he takes one sin is wiped away while for the other step he is elevated once.” [1] He also says: “Whoever walks to the mosque and leaves from it, Allah prepares for him his abode in paradise every time he does so.” [2] He also says: “The most of people in reward for Salaah is the furthest of them and the furthest of them in walking. And the one who waits for Salaah until he completes it with the Imam receives a greater reward than the one who performs it and then sleeps.” [3] S ayyiduna Jareer RA reports: “I pledged allegiance to Rasoolullah SAW for the regular  establishment of Salaah.” [4] Sayyiduna `Abdullah Ibn Mas`ood RA asked Rasoolullah SAW: “Which action is dearest to Allah?” He replied: “Salaah in its proper time.” [5]
